It's been such a long winter hasnt it? Having worked in a portakabin for the duration of it, with the loo in a barn (which is still being done up), and kettle in another barn I am glad I no longer have to wrap up and brave the cold. At one point the loo consisted of 2 wooden walls, a loose door and a blue plastic roof (so the builders couldnt see in from above). And the builders kept 'missing' the loo (not from above) so you had to stand in a puddle most of the time. I tell thee it was testing.
In the Sunday Observer magazine this weekend there was an interesting article on depression. The author highly recommends
5-HTP (a precursor to Serotonin) for depression, manic depression and sleep disorders and it has none of the accompanying side effects present with SSRIs or Prozac. It is also totally natural. Couple this with a good diet with all the omegas and rice, veg and fruit, low caffeine and alcohol and she is getting better. I would also suggest a really practical book for overthinkers. It's called 'Women who think too much' (although I know men who do it too!) I'm trying to use it as a bit of a bible. I think we think thinking is good, but it can be dangerously negative. For those of us living in relative luxury (loos in barns notwithstanding) we have a bit too much time to think about stuff.
